Klemen Teran
Brick manufacturer Goriške opekarne is producing roof tiles and bricks. They use different mixtures, where clay for roof tiles is of better quality, and for bricks they use marl additive. Every year they extract raw materials in nearby clay pits, needed for the whole annual production. During the process they homogenize this annually extracted raw materials prior manufacturing procedure. The broken tiles or bricks, or manufacturing rejects are collected separately, crushed (0-8 mm, but also other granulation are possible), and sold as an additive for horticulture, for pavements, tennis courts etc. Sample in this register represent the crushed brick rejects, which is far larger than tiles rejects - approx. annual amount is 2.000 t/year. The sample can be regarded as annual average sample. Sample was taken on 23.09.2020.
